National Team: Delta Phi Epsilon

In 1955, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation was founded by a small group of parents of CF patients who wanted to advance understanding of this little-known disease, to create new treatments and specialized care for their children, and to find a cure.  One of those founding parents was Phyllis Kossoff, a DPhiE sister from the Delta Chapter at Hunter College in New York. Phyllis’ daughter Stephanie had CF, which eventually took her young life.  In 1957, Phyllis stood before a DPhiE convention and told her sisters about Stephanie and their growing CF family, and asked for help. The response was overwhelming, and DPhiE has been there ever since; fundraising, increasing awareness and advocating for those with CF.  Our partnership with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation has spanned decades, and we have raised over $1 million to support the cause. Let’s continue the fight together and help everyone living with CF to add tomorrow and live today.  

Great Strides is the CF Foundation’s largest fundraising event and DPhiE is participating in Great Strides to help find a cure for CF!  We’re proud to be a part of this game-changing and efficient organization.  DPhiE Chapters across the country host Deepher Dude and other fundraising events to raise money for the CF Foundation. 

By registering for a local Great Strides event, DPhiE Chapters will have access to the special DPhiE passion fundraising web page.  The Passion Fundraising webpage will help you organize and share your events. So, sign up and register for a local Great Strides today! Here’s how you can participate:

1. To gain access to the Delta Phi Epsilon Passion Fundraising web pages, please register a team at a local Great Strides event.                                                                                       
2. Click on “Start a New Team”.  Enter in your zip code to find the event you’d like to participate in. Click “Start a Delta Phi Epsilon Team”.                                                                              
3. Please name your team “DPhiE – Your Chapter Name – Your School/Alumni Association”.        
4. You can join any of our existing teams as a walker or virtually by clicking ‘Find a Walk/Team’ and search for our organization.                                                                                             
5. Forty-eight hours after you complete your Great Strides registration you will be able to access the Passion Fundraising website and create your own event.  Please use the code DPHIE2016 to access the DPhiE Personalized event template.
