Since 2006, First Financial Security, Inc. has been helping families find peace of mind in the face of unforeseen injury and illness. This year, First Financial Security will be walking in Great Strides in Atlanta on May 18th to honor Maya Cook, who was diagnosed shortly after she was born with cystic fibrosis.
Maya is the daughter of Ben and Kirsten Cook. Ben was our recognition coordinator at FFS for nearly 10 years. When he came to us with an opportunity for FFS to give back in a meaningful way to the CF community, we jumped at the chance. Ben shared with us,
“Words cannot express how grateful and excited our family is for FFS to be supporting the CF Foundation. It gives us so much hope — not only for Maya, but for all families who fight for loved ones impacted by CF. We’ve always felt the love and support of the FFS family, and this is further proof that they live out the One Team mentality.”
Since Maya’s diagnosis, the FFS community has found hope in all the progress that has already been made for those who have cystic fibrosis — a rare, genetic, life-shortening disease that impacts many of the body’s organs and makes it difficult to breathe. Because of advocates like the CF Foundation, the life expectancy of someone with CF has doubled in the last 30 years. We hope to push this progress even further until research finally leads to a cure.
Join us in bringing more tomorrows to Maya and all who are diagnosed with CF. Great Strides is the perfect opportunity for our community to come together, make a difference and have some fun in the process. To participate, click on the "Donate To A Team Member" or “Join This Team” button so you can donate or start fundraising.
Thank you to the CF Foundation and all who join us to fight for a cure. Supporters like you can help us bring about extraordinary medical innovation. Maya has already benefitted from all the progress being made. We will keep up this momentum until we find a cure.
