Why We Hike
In 2012 the Brodnitzki family, inspired by their CFF Charlotte hike founder and friend John Barlow, helped the MASS/RI Chapter launch the Xtreme Hike. Twenty-four hikers followed their lead through the trails of Mt. Greylock raising nearly $90,000 in one year. Each year the trail team lead by Bill Brodnitzki (Cookie), Bill B., Anne B. and Rik McClave carve a trail in the Berkshires to challenge hikers and give hope to the CF Community. A grueling day of hiking reminds participants of the struggles of our friends with CF. Hikers throughout the CF community and beyond to continue hiking until a cure is found. In just 8 years, the XTREME HIKE program in Massachusetts has raised nearly $2.5 Million for vital CF research, care and education.
