My Team CF Story

After running the Kansas City marathon last year (my first one!), I wanted to set a goal to continue running a marathon each year. This time around, however, I wanted to also raise money for a meaningful cause at the same time. Having had friends in college with CF, as well as friends who work day-in-day-out to provide care for CF patients, I could not think of a better team to work with than Team CF!

There is currently no cure for Cystic Fibrosis, which affects the lungs, pancreas, and other organs. The symptoms can vary from person to person, and as people with CF live longer than ever before, their disease can become more complicated, leading to serious health issues.

The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation has made extraordinary progress — including fostering the development of more than a dozen CF treatments — but these treatments are not a cure and not everyone can benefit from them.
