My Team CF Story

This year will mark 26 years without our beloved Jamie.  Jamie was a daughter, cousin, friend and so much more.  When we were kids we'd have sleepovers, laugh, enjoy doritos and hershey kisses (her favorites).  I have so many memories with her.  Even some when visiting her in the hospital when she was getting treatment.  She was loved by everyone who knew her and I think those that did can agree - her laugh was infectious!  

Fast forward to today, and I run by the house she lived in with her mom all the time.  When thinking about her, and realizing it would be 26 years that she'd been gone I was overcome with emotion.  The amount of years we have missed her are more than the years we had with her.  

With her mom, Darlene's blessing I am running the Chicago Marathon on October 13, 2024.  I am running to honor her and raise funds for cystic fibrosis.  

There is currently no cure for cystic fibrosis. By participating in Team CF, I am helping to end this disease for thousands of people impacted by CF.

Cystic fibrosis affects the lungs, pancreas, and other organs. The symptoms can vary from person to person, and as people with CF live longer than ever before, their disease can become more complicated, leading to serious health issues.

The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation has made extraordinary progress — including fostering the development of more than a dozen CF treatments — but these treatments are not a cure and not everyone can benefit from them. We must keep going.
