My Team CF Story

Hey there! I'm Katy, and I've taken on the incredible challenge of training for the Chicago Marathon. But this isn't just about conquering 26.2 miles; it's a journey fueled by passion, purpose, and a mission to make a difference.

Why am I lacing up my running shoes? Well, I'm on a mission to raise funds and awareness for Cystic Fibrosis (CF), a cause that's close to my heart. CF is a genetic disorder that affects the lungs and digestive system, making every breath a battle for those living with it. It's a cause that demands attention, support, and research to enhance the quality of life for those facing this relentless challenge.

As I hit the pavements, clocking in miles and pushing my limits, I'm not just running for personal achievement; I'm running for the CF warriors who fight each day with unwavering strength, specifically my younger cousin Vivian. She was diagnosed at 9 days old and at that time her life expectancy was 32. Now she is a junior in high school, on the dance team and in the choir, and is excited about prom and going to college… all things we never thought possible when she was born. All of this has become a reality thanks to the life changing science donations have brought us. My journey is dedicated to raising funds that will contribute to research, medical advancements, and support programs for individuals and families affected by CF.
