My Team CF Story
Our family is no stranger to the daily difficulties faced by cystic fibrosis patients, a disease for which there currently is no cure. My wife, Jessica, is a CF Fighter. She was diagnosed at birth and has fought this disease as it continues to bring on new challenges with complications from CF related diabetes (CFRD) as well as permanent digestive issues.
The money we raise goes towards the research for a CURE for this disease, and the Foundation has made huge strides in the past several years with the release of targeted drugs to address the specific gene mutations which cause CF. While this is a big step forward and has added extra time to the lives of our Fighters, it's still not enough.
Cystic fibrosis affects the lungs, pancreas, and other organs. The symptoms can vary from person to person, and as people with CF live longer than ever before, their disease can become more complicated, leading to serious health issues.
The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation has made extraordinary progress — including fostering the development of more than a dozen CF treatments — but these treatments are not a cure and not everyone can benefit from them. We must keep going.
Your support makes a difference.
By donating to my fundraising goal, you will help advance our mission for a cure. Please consider joining me and Jess and helping make CF stand for Cure Found.
