My Xtreme Hike Story

This year will be my fourth year participating in the "Xtreme Hike" fundraiser in Yosemite National Park for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Why do I keep going back each year? Because there is still no cure for cystic fibrosis. BUT, they are supporting a broad range of research initiatives to tackle the disease, and I'm hopeful for a cure within Ellie's lifetime.

When she was born, the average life expectancy for someone with CF was 36 years old. Because of the CF Foundation, the average life expectancy for a child born with CF today has increased to 56 years. That's 20 years, which is phenomenal, and was all made possible by donations from people like you!!

Ellie is now 13 years old. She LOVES sports and anything to do with sports. She is very focused on staying healthy and is looking forward to continuing to play many sports in 8th grade. She is doing well and asymptomatic, which we are very grateful for. However, others aren't so lucky. For them and for Ellie, I won't stop until there is a CURE FOUND.

Please consider donating to the hike today and know that your donation WILL help Ellie and everyone else with CF!
