My Xtreme Hike Story

Ellie is 12 years old, turning 13 later this year.  She LOVES sports and anything to do with sports.  She does not love playing music, but I love this photo of her, which is why I posted it.  She is very focused on staying healthy and is looking forward to the many different kinds of sports she'll be able to play in 7th grade.  She's also doing well and thriving under a program with her doctor where she does not have to do breathing treatments anymore (unless she is sick).  This is amazing and is all thanks to Trikafta!

Trikafta is the latest drug used to treat those with CF.  The FDA recently approved its use in children as young as 2 years old, and it's helping people with CF live longer, healthier lives.  As a result of this and other therapies and treatments, the life expectancy for a child born with CF today has reached 53 years, up 15 years from just a decade ago!  That is phenomenal and was all made possible by donations from people like you!

In addition to Trikafta, the CF Foundation also has 40 therapies in the drug development pipeline, 35 major industry research programs, and 11 other treatments for people with CF.  They won't stop until there is a CURE FOUND for everyone with this disease, and neither will we because many lives are still cut far too short. 

This year, we will again be doing the Xtreme Hike in Yosemite National Park.  We will be hiking 13 miles up to 7,000 feet.  It will be a difficult climb but worth every step.  Please consider donating to our hike today and know that your donation WILL help Ellie and everyone else with CF!
