My Xtreme Hike Story
Thank you for helping Elena fight cystic fibrosis.
2021 was a year of change for Elena as she moved to Indiana University. As her mother, I was a bit worried about how her lungs would do with this change. Would she keep up with her meds? Would she do her daily nebulizers & percussion machine? What if she gets sick? Here we are in 2022 now, & I am happy to report that Elena has kept her 100% lung function - even with having the flu in the fall & covid during Christmas break! Additionally, her liver, already fighting with CF, took a blow from mono, but again, she bounced back & is doing well! At nearly 20, to still be doing so well, we feel exceedingly blessed. Perhaps our trip to Lourdes, France, with the Order of Malta in 2010 did, in fact, bestow a miracle? I don't know if it did or not, but I do know that all the money you have donated and all the prayers you have prayed have made a difference in Elena's life. Thanks to you, she & so many others with CF are able to live longer, stronger lives.
In order to continue fighting CF, we must continue fundraising. We do not enjoy asking year after year, but we march on (hike on) until there is a cure for every CF mutation. Therefore, the search for a cure & the search for drugs & therapies easing symptoms continues. Your donation will be a huge help to all those affected by CF. Help make CF mean Cure Found!
In addition to a donation, we would love for you to hike with us!
