Our Xtreme Hike Story

Our team began with a few cousins of Mike and Amanda, hiking to raise funds for CF. As we grew, we needed a name. What is our motivation? Cuz We're Cousins! We are committed to fundraising to save lives, not just those of our cousins, but all the other people's cousins across the country who live with CF and are such inspiring FIGHTERS! We have expanded to include another friend and hiker whose motivation is the same, and include "Breathe for Bea" as an inspiration in our commitment to fundraising for more tomorrows for all people with CF.

Cystic fibrosis is a life-shortening, genetic disease found in about 30,000 people in the U.S. that causes persistent lung infections and limits the ability to breath over time. Those living with this disease are moms, dads, sisters, brothers, daughters, sons, friends, and co-workers -- all struggling each day just to breathe.

That’s why we participate in Xtreme Hike, a powerful and unique event that empowers participants across the nation to take the search for a cure for cystic fibrosis to new heights.  We hike for all those living with CF to add tomorrows to their lives.

Because of tremendous advancements in research, treatments, and care, many people with CF are living long enough to realize their dreams of attending college, pursuing careers, getting married, and having a family of their own.
