Our Xtreme Hike Story
Thank you for visiting our team page!
Cystic fibrosis is a life-shortening, genetic disease found in about 30,000 people in the U.S. that causes persistent lung infections and limits the ability to breath over time.
As many of you know our daughter Norah was diagnosed shortly after her birth with Cystic Fibrosis. The news at the time was devastating. But, through the hard work of researchers, doctors, nurses, and so many other people, treatments, therapies, and medications have come a long way in extending our daughter's life expectancy greatly. But the work is not yet done.
Although new therapies have helped people with Cystic Fibrosis lead a more normal life, those lives are still too short, and filled with too many complications. And for too many with CF, those therapies are ineffective or cause side effects that make them unusable. And so the fight against CF continues.
On June 8, we will once again lace up our hiking boots and participate in the Xtreme Hike for Cystic Fibrosis. I hope you will consider supporting us in this effort. The funds raised in this event and others like it, go toward real discoveries and real improvements in the lives of CF patients.
Thank you.
