My Xtreme Hike Story
A HUGE thank you to everyone who has donated to Team Legendary Lucas!!!! Jay and I greatly appreciate all of your support!!
Jay and I are hiking for Lucas, our amazing son who is living with Cystic Fibrosis. He was born on April 2, 2013 with a Double Delta F508 strand of CF. This is the most common but severe strand a person can have. Lucas is pancreatic insufficient and can take anywhere from 25-35 pills a day when he eats on top of other medication. Lucas does two nebulizer treatments and about 30 mins a day of airway clearance. He recently started Trikafta, a CF drug and had a really rough transition. He had a bunch of tough side affects that took about 3 weeks to work through his little body. He is doing amazing now and we are so lucky he was able to push through. He is truly the strongest person we know.
From the moment Lucas was born we vowed to fight for him and for anything he needed. We have been incredibly blessed to love him everyday and watch him grow.
We are hiking 30 miles for Lucas and everyone else living with CF. Please consider making a donation to our team to help us meet our goal of $5000.
There are approximately 30,000 Americans living with cystic fibrosis. They are moms, dads, sisters, brothers, daughters, sons, and friends who struggle every day just to breathe. I hike for them. Will you join me and support my fundraising goal?
Real progress has been made for those who have CF, but there is still no cure for this devastating disease and many lives are cut far too short. We’ve come so far, but there’s still so much work to do. I will not stop hiking until all those with cystic fibrosis have a cure. We will not leave anyone behind.
Please support me!
We are at a pivotal moment in the history of cystic fibrosis and your support matters. With your help, we can invest our resources in research today, while raising funds for tomorrow, to ensure we have what it takes to reach the finish line. Together, we can make CF stand for Cure Found. Please help me reach my fundraising goal by donating to my Xtreme Hike fundraising campaign today!
