My Xtreme Hike Story

Thank you for supporting our Xtreme Hike. 2023 will be our 10th Xtreme Hike and our 24th year of fundraising!  We've raised $2.1M for cystic fibrosis research over all those years.  And it is having an impact.

Cystic fibrosis is a progressive, genetic disease that causes persistent lung infections and limits the ability to breathe over time. It is an orphan disease that affects 30,000 people in the US.  When our son Evan was born in 1997, the average life expectancy was 26. Today it is over 40.  Amazing.  Evan has been on a new drug since November of 2019 and it has changed his health and his life.  

We are so thankful to so many who have been with us on this journey and donated year after year. You've helped us acheive this.

And yet today 10% of CF patients have no available drug for their mutation.  They suffer the terrible affects of CF.  We want every person to experience the life changing impact of a new CF medication and so we continue to raise funds for research.
