My Xtreme Hike Story
I have the pleasure to hike this year again to support one of Franks dearest friends Lucas who was born with the Double Delta F508 strand of CF. This is the most common but severe strand a person can have.
I will hike 26 miles in June with Lucas’s Mom Victoria and Dad Jason!
One of my first nursing jobs was working at Boston Children’s Hospital on a floor where I took care of many CF patients and last year at the banquet I had a mother approach me and say, I think you were my daughters nurse. I could not believe it. This was so touching and shows that even though I have not worked on that floor at Childrens in years a mother still recognized my face.
As a pediatric primary care provider for the last 15+ years I have dedicated myself to provide the best care to all my patients and their families. I am honored and excited that I have the opportunity to hike for a great cause and to raise money for CF research.
There are approximately 30,000 Americans living with cystic fibrosis. They are moms, dads, sisters, brothers, daughters, sons, and friends who struggle every day just to breathe. I hike for them. Will you join me and support my fundraising goal?
Real progress has been made for those who have CF, but there is still no cure for this devastating disease and many lives are cut far too short. We’ve come so far, but there’s still so much work to do. I will not stop hiking until all those with cystic fibrosis have a cure. We will not leave anyone behind.
Please support me!
We are at a pivotal moment in the history of cystic fibrosis and your support matters. With your help, we can invest our resources in research today, while raising funds for tomorrow, to ensure we have what it takes to reach the finish line. Together, we can make CF stand for Cure Found. Please help me reach my fundraising goal by donating to my Xtreme Hike fundraising campaign today!
