My Xtreme Hike Story

My daughter, Callie, has been bravely battling Cystic Fibrosis throughout her entire life. Cystic Fibrosis is a complex genetic disorder that primarily affects the respiratory and digestive systems. Callie, like many others with CF, has diligently followed a regimen of medications and lung clearance treatments to manage the symptoms of this challenging condition.

As a parent witnessing the daily struggles that come with CF, I have seen firsthand the impact it can have on a person's life. While there is currently no cure for Cystic Fibrosis, the advancements in medications and treatments by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation have been nothing short of remarkable. These developments have significantly improved the quality of life for those living with CF, but the journey is far from over.

To contribute to the ongoing efforts to find a cure and support individuals like my daughter, I am embarking on a Grand Canyon Rim to Rim hike as part of the Xtreme Hike initiative. By participating in this challenging endeavor, I am not only raising awareness but also funds to help end this relentless disease. The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation has played a pivotal role in fostering the development of numerous treatments, but we must continue pushing forward until a cure is found.
