My Xtreme Hike Story

Nearly 40,000 people in the United States have cystic fibrosis: a progressive, genetic disease that affects the lungs, pancreas, and other organs. They are moms, dads, sisters, brothers, daughters, sons, and friends who struggle every day to breathe easy and face the sobering prospect of a shortened lifespan. I hike for them.  I also hike to give me as much time with my family especially my devoted husband and my 7 year old twins, Caden & Addison.  I am a CF warrior and will not stop until CF stands for Cure Found.

Real progress has been made for those who have CF, but there is still no cure for this devastating disease and many lives are cut far too short. We’ve come so far, but there’s still so much work to do. I will not stop hiking until all those with cystic fibrosis have a cure. We will not leave anyone behind.

On Saturday September 30th, I will set out to hike 21+ miles on the Escarpment Trail in the Catskills, NY.
