My Xtreme Hike Story

There are approximately 30,000 Americans living with cystic fibrosis. They are moms, dads, sisters, brothers, daughters, sons, and friends who struggle every day just to breathe, and my soon to be brother-in-law, David, is one of them. I didn't know much about Cystic Fibrosis until my sister started dating David 8 years ago. Through the years, I have learned how it affects those who have it. My parents got involved with the Xtreme Hike 7 years ago and, from behind the scenes, I have watched their dedication to the cause and hiking 30.1 miles in one day. Every year they have tried to "recruit" me to join the hike and every year I have politely declined, until this year. I was given that final push when I recently joined the consulting firm, AXIA, and saw the passion and support the company and their employees put into the cause. 

Attending the company meeting, I was inspired when finding out the median life expectancy for those with Cystic Fibrosis has risen from 44 to 53 years old in just the past 6 years. I realized how much of a difference hikers, supporters, and donators can make in helping to find a cure or new treatments that help those with CF. 

So on September 23rd, I will be hiking alongside my parents, other AXIA team members, and fellow hikers. Please help me reach my fundraising goal by donating to my Xtreme Hike fundraising campaign today!
