My Xtreme Hike Story

There are approximately 30,000 Americans living with cystic fibrosis. They are moms, dads, sisters, brothers, daughters, sons, and friends who struggle every day just to breathe. I didn't know much about Cystic Fibrosis until my sister started dating David 9 years ago. Through the years, I have learned how it affects those who have it. Last year I took the leap and participated in the 15 mile portion of the hike. As soon as I finished the 15, I knew that the next year I would be doing the full 30.1 miles.

One fact that has inspired me was finding out the median life expectancy for those with Cystic Fibrosis has risen from 44 to 57 years old in just the past 7 or so years. Seeing these numbers puts in to perspective how much of a difference hikers, supporters, and donators can make in helping to find a cure or new treatments that help those with CF. 

So on September 21st, I will be hiking alongside my parents, other AXIA team members, and fellow hikers. Please help me reach my fundraising goal by donating to my Xtreme Hike fundraising campaign today!
