My 3rd Xtreme Hike for Cystic Fibrosis. By now you all may know I'm passionate about this hike!! I hope you can join me this year. My CF journey started 30 years ago. When Nathan was born he was life-flighted to Children's Mercy Hospital due to breathing issues. After 10 days in ICU he came out swinging! Nathan was diagnosed with CF at the age of 18 months. Since that day our family has a new appreciation for good health and wellness. He played all sports growing up but finished strong in basketball; playing 4 years at the collegiate level. Married and now a father, Nathan turns 30 this year!! He is dedicated to his fitness, health and his family in a way I could have never imagined. Nathan is my hero. I am honored to be his mom and set my goal to complete this Xtreme Hike as a tribute to him. If you would like to join my team, please message me. There are approximately 30,000 Americans living with cystic fibrosis. They are moms, dads, sisters, brothers, daughters, sons, and friends who struggle every day just to breathe.
Real progress has been made for those who have CF, but there is still no cure for this devastating disease and many lives are cut far too short. We’ve come so far, but there’s still so much work to do. I will not stop hiking until all those with cystic fibrosis have a cure. We will not leave anyone behind.
