My Xtreme Hike Story
HI! My name is Lindsay Newbanks-Du Buque, and I have been a registered pediatric nurse for 18 years. When I'm not working to help kids stay alive and healthy, I like to hike, ride 4wheelers, hang out at the creek/river, and go to festivals with my boyfriend Josh and our kids, Elijah, Lillianna, and Josephine. This September I am participating in my 11th annual Xtreme Hike for Cystic Fibrosis, as a participant, a committee member, and a coach. My goal is to raise $2500 as I prepare to hike 30.1 miles of mountainous terrain in less than 12 hrs.
CF has changed my life forever, giving me an undying drive to fight for those who have been fighting their whole lives. I fight for a cure because I've watched 16 pediatric patients, an amazing woman and fellow hiker, and a very close friend lose their fight with this disease, and because so many people continue to fight every day just to breathe. I have wiped away too many tears shed, held too many hands to deliver bad news, counted too many last breaths, and cried through too many funerals. It's time to find a cure, and with your help, any amount big or small, brings us one step closer to it!!
Please help me reach my goal by donating to my page, becoming a corporate sponsor, or purchasing one of my fundraising items such as some tasty stuff from TJs pizza.
