My Xtreme Hike Story
I am excited to announce that I will be taking part in the Cystic Fibrosis Colorado Xtreme Hike this fall! For the past four years my aunt and uncle have participated in the CF Xtreme Hike in Western MA and have inspired myself and my sister, Maria to do the same for our cousin Patrick and his fight against Cystic Fibrosis. We will hike 20 miles on September 21st in Vail, CO to continue the amazing efforts of Patrick's Posse and to help make a difference in Patrick's life and the CF community.
My cousin Patrick has Cystic Fibrosis, which is a genetic disorder that affects the respiratory, digestive and reproductive systems. Currently there is no cure and time is not on our side. Although, scientists are progressing every day with CF research and the hope to one day find a cure. But, this doesn’t change the fact that every single day Patrick continues to fight to slow down the progression of his disease. On a daily basis Patrick has to take enzymes, use a nebulizer, undergo chest therapy and take several drugs. So, while this hike will be a challenge it won’t compare to what Patrick endures every day of his life.
My goal is to raise $2,500 and hike 20 miles through the Rocky Mountains. Please consider donating to me on behalf of Patrick’s Posse. Even the smallest donation helps us get closer to reaching our goal!
