My Hike Story

Please keep my kids safe, healthy, and happy… that’s gone through my head every day since my children were born. Every mom worries! For parents, like my friends Mary and Mike, these worries are even greater. Their eldest daughter, along with many others, is living with Cystic Fibrosis. 

About CF…

Cystic fibrosis affects the lungs, pancreas, and other organs. The symptoms can vary from person to person, and as people with CF live longer than ever before, their disease can become more complicated, leading to serious health issues. The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation has made extraordinary progress — including fostering the development of more than a dozen CF treatments — but these treatments are not a cure and not everyone can benefit from them. We must keep going. 

Why a hike?

I am hiking to raise awareness and funds to advance a cure for Cystic Fibrosis. The Xtreme Hike is meant to mirror the challenges that those living with this disease, and their families,  have to endure everyday. I am inspired by their strength and I hope you are too!
