My Xtreme Hike Story…why am I Climbing a mountain??

I am climbing to raise funds and awareness for CF but also to honor a friend that passed away this year …his name is Matt. He didn’t have CF he had another rare lung disease called hypo ventilation syndrome that made it difficult to even breathe every day and every night like those suffering from CF. 

Matt was a fighter for sure but he climbed a mountain every day of his too short almost 38 year life. So I’m going to climb a mountain too, starting at 4am , 17.5 miles , nearly 5000 feet elevation for Matt  and CF  

CF: Nearly 40,000 people in the United States have cystic fibrosis: a progressive, genetic disease that affects the lungs, pancreas, and other organs. They are moms, dads, sisters, brothers, daughters, sons, and friends who face the sobering prospect of a shortened lifespan. I hike for them and my friend Matt.
