My Hike Story
I learned about the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation from my sister, Cindi Ripple. Her husband, Steve, has a sister that has two children with Cystic Fibrosis. In 2013, I participated in my first CF Extreme Hike – hiking 20+ miles to El Capitan in Yosemite. I hiked with two of Steve’s other sisters (yes, Steve has many sisters!). I met some amazing people on that first hike including a 45 year-old man who just had a double lung transplant six months prior. His goal was to hike to Eagle Peak - 14 miles & 3,500 ft. I was thrilled to see him when I got there. I am truly inspired by this organization and the CF Warriors I’ve met along the way.
