My Xtreme Hike Story
My Hike Story
On April 20, 2024 I am participating in the Xtreme Hike with my friend Melissa in Sedona, Arizona. I am helping to fundraise for more life saving medications and treatments for those affected by Cystic Fibrosis (CF).
Our daughter, Maggie, will be turning 18 years old in a couple of months. She was one month old when she was diagnosed with CF. We've been committed to her care and therapies since then. We've gone to Seattle Children's Hospital for her quarterly check-ups and she has had the absolute BEST healthcare team. However, it has been the advancements of the biotech/pharmaceutical companies that have made life changing and gene modifying advancements for those living with CF. Medications like Kalydeco and Trikafta have been game changers and have improved the outcomes for those with CF. They are medications aimed at reversing the defective CFTR gene. For all the progress that has been made thus far, we are truly grateful.
While the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation has made extraordinary progress including fostering the development of more than a dozen CF treatments and committing to investing into the the pharmaceutical pipeline, these treatments are not a cure and not everyone can benefit from them. We must keep fighting for a cure!
Your support makes a difference.
By donating to my fundraising goal of $3,000, you will help advance our mission for a cure for all. On April 20th, I will be hiking 17 miles dedicated to finding a cure for Cystic Fibrosis. Please consider joining us and helping make CF stand for Cure Found! We thank you for all the love and support throughout the years! We appreciate all your prayers to helping Maggie live a stronger, and better life. XOXO
