My Hike Story
My cousin Connor has Cystic Fibrosis. He is two years younger than me, and this disorder has affected nearly all areas of his life as he grew up. He has always had to take medication and do treatments. He was given a life expectancy at birth of 27 years. That kind of expectation affects your decisions to marry or have children.
The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation has made extraordinary progress — including fostering the development of more than a dozen CF treatments — and Connor is currently 29 years old, married, the father of one with another on the way, and healthier than he was in high school. Amazing!
But there is currently still no cure for cystic fibrosis. By participating in Xtreme Hike, I am helping to end this disease for thousands of people impacted by CF.
