My Xtreme Hike Story

First off, thank you for visiting my Xtreme Hike Page! If you are here, you are curious, interested, and/or engaged. No matter the reason, you are appreciated.

2024 marks the 3rd year in a row of Xtreme Hike for me. If you supported before and are back, thank you x3! If this is your first year of support, thank you!

The NEED:

I have supported the CF foundation in a variety of ways over the years. Again this year, I am stepping up, physically and mentally, and will complete the Xtreme Hike; a 26 mile 1 day hike through the mountains!

While I do this to event to raise awareness, I ask you to consider providing any monetary support that you are able using the "DONATE TO ME" button above. 

Your contributions WILL support the CF Foundation's goal of make CF stand for "Cure Found."

My Connection 

My connection to CF and my reason for supporting this journey of finding a cure is multifactorial, but first and foremost it is because of my brother - in - law, Chase. I admit, before meeting my wife, Meg, and her telling me about Chase and CF I had little to no knowledge of CF or the struggles someone with it and their families experience day in and day out, especially in the early years of life.

When I went to nursing school and while completing my pediatric clinical rotation and I was presented with exactly that - one of the patients I was assigned had CF and this particular individual was acutely ill and their prognosis was poor. Conversations with Meg, Chase, and their family gave me a general understanding of how challenging CF can be, but this individual and their family put it directly in front of me and it was an experience that took my understanding, empathy, compassion, and desire to be an advocate for finding a cure for CF to new levels. No person and their loved ones should be faced with those challenges. Through the CF Foundation and YOUR support, we can end those experiences.

  Approximately 30,000 Americans are living with cystic fibrosis. They are moms, dads, sisters, brothers, daughters, sons, and friends who struggle every day just to breathe. I hike for them. Will you join me and support my fundraising goal?

Real progress has been made for those who have CF, but there is still no cure for this devastating disease, and many lives are cut far too short. We've come so far, but there's still so much work to do. I will not stop hiking until all those with cystic fibrosis have a cure. We will not leave anyone behind.
