My Xtreme Hike Story
As many of you know, I have been involved with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation since 2019 when I was recognized as one of "Virginia's Finest." (A lovely honor, but a bit dubious that title applies to me...) Since then I have chaired the Tomorrow's Leaders committee, aiming to bring in young professionals from around RVA to network, learn, engage, and support this great organization through volunteerism and monetary donations. Most recently I have joined the board of directors and have the privilege of helping to guide this group creating great events, impactful campaigns, and lasting contributions.
This year I am aligning a personal goal of getting out into nature more frequently and engaging in a healthier lifestyle with a philanthropic goal of raising some serious cash for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. I'm committed to completing the 26 mile Extreme Hike on September 30th - just a few days after my 41st birthday! With your help, we'll exceed the fundraising goal, have some fun along the way, and make a dent in ending this terrible disease.
A little background - There are approximately 30,000 Americans living with cystic fibrosis. They are moms, dads, sisters, brothers, daughters, sons, and friends who struggle every day just to breathe.
In the past 4 years, since getting involved with the Foundation, I have made great friends with people whose lives have been shaped by CF. I've seen the celebration when novel medicines and treatments get approved by the FDA and I've witnessed the sorrow when lives have been cut short but his disease.
Please support me!
We are at a pivotal moment in the history of cystic fibrosis and your support matters. With your help, we can invest our resources in research today, while raising funds for tomorrow, to ensure we have what it takes to reach the finish line. Together, we can make CF stand for Cure Found. Please help me reach my fundraising goal by donating to my Xtreme Hike fundraising campaign today!
