My Xtreme Hike Story

Until about 10 years ago, cystic fibrosis wasn't on my radar. I'd heard of it, but I had the privilege of never needing to know anything more. Somehow, all of that changed and I now have 5 people in my life with cystic fibrosis, CF. All of them are children. Through my volunteer efforts, I've met so many more families and individuals and I've been immeasurably changed by their stories, their strength, and their determination to find a cure. I've watched as huge medical advancements have happened in just the last 2 years that is increasing life expectancy and changing lives. My hiking, my volunteering, my fundraising is making a difference. When you see that, you just want to keep going.

There are approximately 30,000 Americans living with cystic fibrosis. They are moms, dads, sisters, brothers, daughters, sons, and friends who struggle every day just to breathe. I hike for them. Will you join me and support my fundraising goal?

Real progress has been made for those who have CF, but there is still no cure for this devastating disease and many lives are cut far too short. We’ve come so far, but there’s still so much work to do. I will not stop hiking until all those with cystic fibrosis have a cure. We will not leave anyone behind.
