Our Xtreme Hike Story

We're at it again! On September 17, 2022, the Harvey family will be participating in the Cystic Fibrosis Xtreme Hike event. Some of us (Rob, Heather, and Ben) will do the half hike, while the others will complete 26 miles (or more) to raise awareness and funds to find a cure for Cystic Fibrosis.  So much progress has been made, but we are not there yet.  Please consider joining our team or making a donations to raise funds to support the CF Foundation's mission.

Xtreme Hike is a powerful and unique event that empowers participants to take the search for the cure to new heights. Cystic fibrosis is a rare, genetic, life-shortening disease that affects every organ in the body and makes breathing difficult. Some people with the disease say it’s like breathing through a narrow straw. In people with CF, a defective gene causes a thick buildup of mucus in the lungs, pancreas and other organs. Those living with this disease are moms, dads, sisters, brothers, daughters, sons, friends, and co-workers, all struggling every day just to breathe and live a normal, healthy life. We hike for them.
