The Virginia Extreme Hike is underway for 2024. This event has been a major contributor to the approval of the oral drug therapy, Trikafta. The FDA approved Trikafta for use with ages 2 - 5 years through adults. This drug therapy has allowed those living with CF to enjoy life as never before. The work is ongoing to reach therapies for all of the CF population . I am confident that there will be another new therapy from the research this year.
Team Antman, named for my grandson Anthony, is on the mountains to raise awareness and funds for more research. Anthony is an active teenager. He has seen so much change in his life with Trikafta. He is outdoors with friends, and excels in school. Anthony has also become a very good "chef" in the kitchen at home.
The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation slogan is "until it's done". I am joining with Team Antman to carry out that slogan.
