My Xtreme Hike Story
My Hike Story
About two and a half years ago, my grandson was born with cystic fibrosis. Since that time, I have learned a great deal about this horrible disease. I am taking on the Xtreme Hike for the second year in a row in my grandson’s honor and in support of the thousands of those who also fight this terrible disease.
Last year’s hike was a grueling trek of over 30 miles in one day. I am excited to return to the trail and hope you will consider supporting me on this journey. Without the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s tireless efforts, the many amazing advancements in treatment and drugs would not be available to my grandson.
There is currently no cure for cystic fibrosis, but I hope that one day CF will stand for Cure Found!
What is CF?
Cystic fibrosis affects the lungs, pancreas, and other organs. The symptoms can vary from person to person, and as people with CF live longer than ever before, their disease can become more complicated, leading to serious health issues.
The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation has made extraordinary progress — including fostering the development of more than a dozen CF treatments — but these treatments are not a cure and not everyone can benefit from them.
Your support makes a difference.
By donating to my fundraising goal, you will help advance our mission for a cure for all. Every dollar can truly make a difference to those who fight this disease every single day.
