My Xtreme Hike Story
My Hike Story
Our dear friends, The Woods, have been a part of our lives since my husband, Pete, was in grade school. You see, this is when Pete and Mike met and became friends. It has been amazing to see the circle of friendship as Pete and Mike have been the closest of friends and now our sons are the closest of friends.
When Tobin entered the world, we were beyond excited to see how our son Peter and Tobin would interact and get along. It has been a blessing to see how Peter and Tobin have grown in their friendship over the last 10 years. They support each other, play Minecraft together and just enjoy life when they are together. We need and want to see this friendship continue to grow and flourish, just like their Dads. To make this happen, this is where we need to raise funding for a disease that doesn’t get a lot of attention, because it is considered rare.
There is currently no cure for cystic fibrosis. By participating in Xtreme Hike, I am helping to end this disease for thousands of people impacted by CF and for Peter’s best buddy, Tobin.
Cystic fibrosis affects the lungs, pancreas, and other organs. The symptoms can vary from person to person, and as people with CF live longer than ever before, their disease can become more complicated, leading to serious health issues.
The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation has made extraordinary progress — including fostering the development of more than a dozen CF treatments — but these treatments are not a cure and not everyone can benefit from them. We must keep going.
Your support makes a difference.
By donating to my fundraising goal, you will help advance our mission for a cure for all. Please consider joining us and helping make CF stand for Cure Found.
