My Hike Story

Cheering for Chandler is trying out something new this year!

On September 21st, I will be participating in the 2024 TENNESSEE XTREME HIKE with my son, Douglas, to support my granddaughter, Chandler, and to raise money for a CURE! Together we’ll hike 12 miles along the Cumberland Trail. 

Cystic Fibrosis is a progressive genetic disease that causes a thick buildup of mucus in the lungs, pancreas, and other organs. The type and severity of CF symptoms can differ widely from person to person. Douglas and Kandis work incredibly hard every single day to do everything they can to help Chandler lead the most normal, happy, and healthy life possible. She has been doing AMAZINGLY well over the past year and it is because of your generous donations and the incredible doctors and scientists behind the CF Foundation. Because of your generosity, she has had access to lifesaving medications and treatments. We are forever, abundantly grateful!

There is currently no cure for cystic fibrosis. By participating in Xtreme Hike, I am helping to end this disease for thousands of people impacted by CF.
