My Xtreme Hike Story
There is currently no cure for cystic fibrosis. By participating in Xtreme Hike, I hope to help to end this disease for thousands of people impacted by CF.
In people living with CF, a defective gene causes a thick, buildup of mucus in the lungs, pancreas, and other organs leading to infections, extensive lung damage, and eventually, respiratory failure.
At the start of my pediatric career, the life expectancy for my patients with with CF was in the teens. Now, with improved therapies the life expectancy of a child born in the last few years is projected to be in the 50's!
The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation has made extraordinary progress — including fostering the development of more than a dozen CF treatments — but these treatments are not a cure and not everyone can benefit from them. We must keep going.
Please support me!
By donating to my fundraising goal, you will help advance our mission for a cure for all. Please consider joining us and helping make CF stand for Cure Found.
