My Xtreme Hike Story
Mallory and I are planning to hike 30.1 miles of the Appalachian Trial on October 12 to raise money and awareness for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. This cause is very important to me as I was diagnosed with CF a few years ago.
Cystic fibrosis is a genetic condition which affects the lungs, pancreas, and other organs. The symptoms can vary from person to person, and I have been fortunate to not have any severe symptoms. I am very thankful for my wife Mallory having pushed me to get diagnosed, and now I work with the doctors and nurses to keep my lung function high using exercise and medication.
The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation has made extraordinary progress — including fostering the development of more than a dozen CF treatments — these treatments are amazing, but they only work for 90% of CF patients and are not applicable to all patients depending on which genetic variation they have. With the many medical breakthroughs and genetic editing techniques, there is a possibility of a cure for CF in the future, but that will require much more research and testing.
Your support makes a difference.
I truly appreciate any donation that you are able to give towards this cause, and help the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in their mission to increase the likelihood of finding a cure.
All donations are tax-deductible. Check with your employer to see if they have a matching donation program. Every bit helps!
Thank you!
