My Xtreme Hike Story

Can you help our SALTY LICKS TEAM achieve our ambitious fundraising goal of $30,000 for the 2023 Xtreme Hike for CF, Cystic Fibrosis, on July 29,2023 on Mt. Hood? Pledge money raiseded will fund important national medical reserch to help find a CF cure and continue to develop meds to enhance the quality of life for over 30,000 Americans living with cystic fibrosis. They are moms, dads, sisters, brothers, daughters, sons, and friends who struggle every day just to breathe. We hike for them.

Pictured is my daughter, Krista Lynn Baker, who passed at age 20, due to complications from Cystic Fibrosis. While denied her hope for a life-saving double lung transplant, Krista could think of others. Krista became a successful cornea donor improving the life-enhancing sight for two young men. CF is a progressive, genetic lung disease that limits one's abiity to breathe over time. Joining me again on the SALTY LICKS TEAM are my two adult daughters, Nicole Jonak and Amanda Nelson. Real progress has been made for those who have CF, but there is still no cure for this devastating disease and many lives are cut far too short. We’ve come so far, but there’s still so much work to do. I will not stop hiking until all those with cystic fibrosis have a cure. We will not leave anyone behind.
