About Our Great Strides Walk
We look forward to seeing you at Sacramento Great Strides on April 13th at 8 AM. Please note, in order to enter the CHP Academy, each car must show a Great Strides parking pass. Parking is free, but the pass is required. You can show your pass on your mobile device or print your pass here. Make sure to save the pass to your mobile device now, so you are ready for walk day.
What to expect on walk day:
Route: A walk that is partially shaded and accessible for strollers, wagons, and wheelchairs. There will be a restroom available on the walk route.
Food: Breakfast goodies & snacks!
Activities:
-Fire Engine, team sign making station, Why I Stride banner, care center stations & sponsor booths.
-Visit our Mission & Teammate Stations to learn more about CF.
Shirts:
-If you qualify for an official event t-shirt ($100 fundraising minimum) you will get a ticket at check-in to redeem at our t-shirt tent.
-CF fighters may pick up their purple "I am a Fighter" shirt at the t-shirt table.
Registration/Check-In:
-We are going cashless, so please submit all donations online or on the Fight CF mobile app prior to the walk.
-We encourage all walkers to register online prior to the event to streamline event check-in.
Important reminders about walk day:
Dog Policy: Dogs are not allowed on the CHP Academy campus so please leave your furry friends at home.
Water: In an effort to be environmentally conscious, we encourage you to bring your own water bottle. We will have extras at the walk in case you forget.
Team Leaders: You will be given a lei to wear at check-in to celebrate the work you've done to rally your friends and family to join the walk.
Walk Festivities: Our walk festivities will be from 8:00 AM - 9:30 AM, so we encourage you and your team to arrive when registration opens so you can visit our booths and participate in our event activities!
Weather: Bring plenty of water, sunscreen, hats and whatever else you may need to stay cool.
Parking: Parking is free but a parking pass is required to enter the academy. You can either print the parking pass or show it on your mobile device upon arrival.
How to participate
Register: Register to participate in person or virtually by clicking the “register” button.
Recruit: Encourage your family, friends, and colleagues to join you.
Fundraise: Fundraising is easier than ever before. You can use the participant center, the Fight CF mobile app, or fundraise on Facebook to reach your goal. You can also create a passion fundraising event or see if your employer has a matching gift program.
Share your story: Life with cystic fibrosis is different for every person living with the disease. Share your story to help others understand the realities of life with CF and why your participation in Great Strides is important.
Walk with us: Join the CF community on event day to celebrate our progress and commitment to finding a cure for every person with cystic fibrosis.

In lieu of cash, we ask that you make all payments/contributions to the CF Foundation with a credit card or check. We accept all major credit cards.
Events may be subject to change based on health or safety concerns. If an event is moved to virtual, sponsorship benefits may be adjusted to fit that format. If an event is cancelled your local contact will reach out to discuss options.
