Go Go Jo
We walk for Josie.
We walk in honor of Josie grandmother, Bev.
We stride for a cure.
Last year our team received donations in memory of Josie's grandmother, Bev. We will continue to walk for Josie and honor Bev this year. We invite you to walk May 21st with the team and donate towards the advancement of care for Josie and others with CF.
Josie is 14. She loves to play basketball and she is good at it. She doesn't like the constant monitoring of her CF-related diabetes during games. She wants to be independant and she is moving that direction. This year she decided (not mom and dad) to start to use the OmniPod insulin pump and she likes it. A great improvement from administering shots each time she eats. Josie continues to take Trikafta. The only drug addressing the root cause of CF. A drug she helped bring to market by participating in a 2-year drug study. Josie normalizes the treatment of CF with her friends, teachers and coaches. She is resilient. She is Go Go Jo.Do you know how

Team Go Go Jo got its name?
When Josie was an infant I would get her ready for bed, rock her in my arms by her crib, and sing to her. I'd sing "Goodnight My Someone, Goodnight My Love" from the Music Man and "You Are My Sunshine". This was a carry-over from when Kate was a baby. After Josie was diagnosed I'd always get choked up on one line, "Please don't take my sunshine away," but I sang it anyway. As I got more used to the idea that cystic fibrosis was a part of our lives I added another song to my repertoire. "Go Go Go Joseph" from another musical, Joseph and the Amazing Techno-Colored Dream Coat and I'd sing "Go Go Go Josie you know what they say - Hang on now Josie you'll make it someday - Sha-la-la Josie you're doing fine - We've read the book and you're ahead of your time." The song goes on and chants "Go Go Jo, Go Go Jo" and Team Go Go Jo was born.
