My Dear Friends and Relatives,
It is that time again that I must ask for your help.
Kyleigh turned 24 in April. Here, in her words, is how her world has changed since her doube lung transplant. "Life is a completely different rollercoaster. With the lows being less about actual illness and hospitalizations and more about paranoia over getting sick from meat not coked well done or from random people I encounter on the bus or at work, even more so in a pandemic. I also struggled watching my body undergo extreme changes due to being on high doses of steroids and not requiring my high calorie/high fat diet to survive. I gained a lot of weight in my face and stomach - a sign of good health but a struggle with accepting my new body. I have developed a passion for art and gardening."
"The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation has been at my side, supporting me and my family. I was about one year old on our First walk. Through the years I have connected with many CF families. It gives me so much hope to see others around me with CF thriving due to the amazing drugs and technologies available to the CF community."
Kyleigh has been blessed with a devoted mother, and family and friends who have continued to support our efforts to find a Cure. We will be participating in the fund raiser again although it will be virtural.
Real progress has been made in the search for a Cure, but the lives of people with CF are still cut far too short. There still is no Cure for this devastating disease. Will you join me? Support me by making a donation to my Great Strides fundraising campaign today!
Your gift is 100-percent tax deductible.
Thanks for all your support.
