Ezekiel was born on August 31 2009. While pregnant I received news that I was a gene carrier of cf. not knowing much about cf because no one in my family or his fathers family had it. Ezekiel was born and immediately we saw some signs of cf. first sign was he was born with meconium ileus. He was transported to a Philly hospital for surgery to repair. While in the NICU he was taken care of and diagnosed officially with cystic fibrosis.
Ezekiel has had his moments over the years with lung infections but nothing that ever hospitalized him until he was 7 years old when he had an appendicitis, which resulted in complications. Ezekiel does his treatments with the nebulizer and uses his vest daily to improve his lung function. He is a strong kid and very aware of why he needs to make sure he does his treatments and take his medications.
We make sure to keep Ezekiel active as much as possible and he does great! He loves basketball and swimming.
We thank God everyday for blessing us with an amazing fighter.
There are approximately 30,000 Americans living with cystic fibrosis. They are moms, dads, sisters, brothers, daughters, sons, friends, and co-workers who struggle every day just to breathe. I walk for them and hope you will support me in my efforts. Great Strides is a fun, family-friendly event that raises awareness and support for people with CF and their families.
Real progress has been for those who have CF, but there is still no cure for this devastating disease and many lives are cut far too short. By walking today, I am helping add tomorrows to the lives of people living with cystic fibrosis. Will you join me? Please consider making a donation to my Great Strides fundraising campaign today!
Please support Ezekiel!
