Hello Family and Friends,
What a different year this has been for everyone! The COVID-19 challenges run deep for us all. While we are not actively fundraising at this time, I wanted to create a page that properly reflects our 2020 mission.
I recently lost my father after a hard, long battle with agressive bladder cancer. We miss him terribly but rejoice knowing that he is no longer in pain. One of his biggest passions was increasing awareness and funding for cystic fibrosis. He worried often about Turner and joined our fight to hope for the cure. This page also serves as a memorial to him. In our early days with the foundation, he walked with us for Great Strides and attended other events like 65 Roses. His big presence filled any gathering and room, and the CF events were no exception.
Thank you for partnering with us as we work toward the ultimate goal, a CURE for ALL who suffer from this disease. Turner' GI system is showing real signs of disease progression. We are now meeting with a team of doctors in Dallas in addition to Cook Children's in Fort Worth. At age 15, his case is complex with rare mutations. His spirit in strong. He continues to amaze me daily as he does many others!
We plan to keep him home from traditional school this coming fall as times are still uncertain with COVID. He and his younger brother will do online schooling as we hope for a timely vaccine to make a difference. Ella and Willing plan to go to college and later quarantine at the holidays so they can rejoin our family. Everything has changed for our family during this pandemic. Nothing is "normal", and the race for both a vaccine and ultimately a cure for Turner are ever more urgent.
As always, we thank you for partnering with us, especially during these challenging times.
Love and Appreciation for all of you!
"But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not be faint." Isaiah 40:31
