I have spent nearly 7 years working for the CF Foundation; an organization I care deeply for. No, I dont have a direct connection to this disease but after 7 years, I have had the priviledge of calling this community a second family.
The story of cystic fibrosis is the most significant story in modern medicine. The collaboration among the FDA, a non-profit, big pharma and most importantly, people with CF and their families has resulted in the creation of drugs that are extending the lives of people with CF by decades.
The CF Foundation is the most effective organization dedicated to curing cystic fibrosis and helping people with CF navigate the complexities of their disease. The Foundation has funded EVERY drug available today for the treatment of both the symptoms and the underlying genetic defect that causes CF. As a result of over 50 years of funding R&D projects, more than 50% of people with cystic fibrosis are now 18 years of age or older. But there is still no cure.
I strongly believe that if each of us were to choose a cause, dedicate our time, talent or treasure, that we would see a tremendous impact on those who need it the most. Cystic fibrosis my cause.
Every donation is an investment. An investment in the lives of 30,000 Americans battling this disease. This Foundation is changing the landscape of personalized medicine and investing in gene editing so that one day, people with CF will walk into a doctor's office and walk out free of cystic fibrosis.
Please support me.
