My second son has cystic fibrosis. Many times I hear people that may or may not know him say, "He looks so healthy. How could he have something so serious?" Cystic fibrosis is often thought of as "the invisible disease." He looks incredible on the outside while he fights with everything he's got against this disease that can be deadly on the inside because there is no cure. That does NOT mean there is no hope. There are SO MANY families and friends that want to do everything in their power to help their loved ones battling cf by fundraising, donating and educating others on how they can help. Research is expensive. That's why we need your help. I love my son and want him to be able to fulfill his own hopes and dreams. He has cf but it does not define him on how he lives his life. However with the amazing research and new drugs that are now available for children and young adults with certain genotypes of cystic fibrosis, many are living into their 40's, 50's and beyond. I pray that my son continues to reach for the stars and is able to fulfill his dreams. My goal and my passion is to help him reach his goals by encouraging him to maintain his medication and exercise regimen, as we keep fighting and keep climbing that mountain until we reach the top and can shout together "Cure found!" There are approximately 30,000 Americans living with cystic fibrosis. They are moms, dads, sisters, brothers, daughters, sons, friends and co-workers who struggle every day watching someone they love who has cf struggle just to breathe. I am one of those moms.

Real progress has been made in the search for a cure, but the lives of people with CF are still cut far too short.
