I can't believe it's that time of year again where I get to share my connection to cystic fibrosis (CF) and passion for helping the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. First, I would like to thank you all for your continued support. Because of your donations, the Foundation is able to continue fighting to find a cure for cystic fibrosis.

In 6th grade a good friend of mine, Allison Villalobos, told me she had cystic fibrosis. CF is a progressive, genetic disease that causes persistent lung infections and limits the ability to breathe over time. Allison is one of the approximately 30,000 Americans living with cystic fibrosis; taking dozens of pills daily, undergoing hours of therapy, doctors and hospital visits. Although advancements have been made, there still is no cure for this disease. Over the past 18 years, my goal has been to help fight for a cure for this disease.

I love volunteering at the North Texas CFF chapter's events, in fact, that is how I met Ryan, my husband. Ryan also suffers from CF and often speaks at events to share how the research that the Foundation does supports the drugs and medications that become available to himself and other CF patients.
