This year we celebrated Allison’s 30th birthday!! We brought a huge group of friends to Vegas (Allison’s favorite vacation spot). I think celebrating her 30th was the most special to everyone in our group of friends because it reminded all of us how strong and determined Allison is. I have never questioned whether or not I will get to celebrate my 30th birthday and I think it’s important that we continue to make this possible for more CF patients.
Although Allison has continued to have hospitalizations almost monthly she has also found a way to really focus on herself and her health this year. Sadly for me that means very little traveling for her, but it has been amazing to watch her finally put herself and her health first no matter what. My hope is that all of this is going to pay off and Allison can stay healthy long enough until the next CF drug becomes available for her. There is a lot of excitement in the CF community about what’s coming next and I know that everything we do for the CF Foundation contributes to this.
This year I choose to have faith in the upcoming CF drugs and I’m beyond grateful that I got to watch Allison turn 30. She continues to be the strongest person I know and I’ll continue to do whatever I can to keep her with me for the next 30 years.
Thank you all for taking the time to read! Even if you cannot donate right now I still love when people ask about CF and want to hold a conversation.
All my love,
