It's that time of year again!! Team Super Connor is back at it again and we are ready to raise awareness and money to fight CF!
Last year I shared that there were several new drugs on the market to help fight CF and that these drugs helped 90% of CF'ers. Connor is so rare and unique that his mutations weren't covered by these new drugs. However, thanks to continued perseverance and generosity of monetary donations, research has continued to allow these drugs to be tested in Connor's mutations, and was found to be effective to treat it!!!!! We have not yet been approved for him to start this drug but I cannot even put into words how HAPPY AND EXCITED this makes me!!!!
Update on Connor:
2020 wasn't a great year for anyone! COVID initially scared the crap out of us, but we quickly learned to take it in stride and didn't let it slow us down or bring us down! Connor did have a hospital stay in July where he celebrated his 11th birthday in true pandemic style - by waving at his family and friends who gathered with signs on the building rooftop across from his room!! (Huge huge thank you to all who made that possible for him!!! He was beyond excited!).
Connor has since been doing well and continues his daily regimen of pill popping and vest shaking multiple times a day.
If you are able to give any amount at all, please consider donating by clicking the "Donate to Allison" or "Join Allison's Team" links. The "walk" this year is on May 15 and will be a "drive-through" type of walk, so we may not have a good turn out. However, I am still planning to host an after-party at my house for all who are comfortable coming over! I can't describe how much it means to me to be able to show Connor that people are willing to show up and support him year after year. As always, thank you thank you thank you to all of you who support us in all of the ways you do!
