...to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded. -Ralph Waldo Emerson.
I became involved in finding a cure for Cystic Fibrosis when my grandchildren Jack and Abigail were diagnosed with CF. I was unaware of the complications of this desease and have become very active in supporting the warriors who suffer with and fight this desease, and those who support the fight for a cure.
For those of you unfamiliar with CF it is, in short, a devastating genetic disease that affects tens of thousands of children and young adults in the United States. A defective gene and its protein product cause the body to produce unusually thick, sticky mucus that clogs the lungs and leads to life-threatening lung infections. It also obstructs the pancreas and stops natural enzymes from helping the body break down and absorb food.
Despite these challenges, we are confident that Jack and Abigail will thrive and that the quality of their lives will be vastly improved through research and care supported by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. The CF Foundation has already made a big impact in our lives by providing education, fundraising opportunities, programs, advice, connections, etc. that help us manage this disease. Our family is very grateful for this organization.

I thank you so very much for your contribution. We firmly believe that together, we can make a difference and add promising tomorrows for Jack and Abigail. Your support strengthens that belief and we cannot thank you enough for that :)
