Allie Jane Dudley was born on January 24th, 2013 to parents Thomas and Janice, and big sister AnnaKate. After two days in the hospital, mom and baby returned home to Florence, MS. From the beginning, Allie Jane was an adorable, happy baby. After two weeks at home with mom and big sister, Allie Jane went for her two week check up. Allie's PedGI doctor called to tell us they wanted us to take her in for a sweat test. The test came back positive, and that, combined with some indicators the PedGI doctor found in her last stool sample, indicates that Allie has Cystic Fibroses. Allie did not flag the CF test required by the state and she explained that the state only checks for the 20 or 50 most common mutations that cause CF. She said those checked for by the state tend to be the most severe, so it could be positive that Allie didn't flag that test. She said that Allie has not presented CF in the normal fashion because most CF babies would have had a lot of pulmonary issues by now. She called in some medicine to begin treating her digestive issues. She said we are under the gun with her digestive issues because she could begin suffering chronic malnutrition. Her pancreas is not producing enzymes she needs to metabolize/digest fats properly. A compounding pharmacy is ordering and making what she needs. We have an appointment with a pulmonary specialist friday at Balir E Batson. Please keep her in your prays !!God is good and we need all prays we can get !! Power of pray is the best medicine!!
