Our Great Strides Story

The construction, real estate, design, and furniture industry has done so much to impact the lives of those in our community.  Building for a Cure is one more opportunity to continue to build our legacy of giving as an industry. Our Build for a Cure team was started by Anton Newman, Executive Vice President of Fluid. In 2017, his daughter was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis. Since that time, Anton has been on a relentless journey to raise awareness and money for CF. 

On this journey, so many other connections to cystic fibrosis have been discovered. CF has touched the lives of Gardner Builder through Bob Gardner's uncle, and at Studio BV with Betsy Vohs' best friend from high school. Kenwood Commercial is impacted through Mike Brehm's wife, Hannah; and Rachel Contracting through Andrea Smith who lives with CF herself. 

Our industry is full of connectivity to this incredibly rare genetic disease. We have a chance to continue to impact those affected by CF. Together, we are joining forces against CF. Every dollar gets us closer to a cure.

Join us on walk day!

If you want to join us at the walk, please register as a walker by clicking the "JOIN BUILDING FOR A CURE’S TEAM" button on this webpage. The walk is on Saturday, May 4 at Bde Maka Ska in Minneapolis. Registration is at 9:00 am and the walk begins at 10:00 am. The walk is a casual 3 miles around the lake. Our team will have a tent with breakfast and lunch available. The event is family friendly with activities for kids and adults of all ages.
